From November 12-13, 2024, the 2nd OCEANIDS Plenary Meeting took place in Brussels, Belgium, gathering project partners and stakeholders to review progress and plan future activities. Hosted in a hybrid format at The Hotel, this event provided a platform for collaboration on developing innovative tools and strategies to enhance resilience and sustainability in European coastal regions.
The meeting agenda included detailed updates on the progress of the OCEANIDS Work Packages, with sessions covering topics such as stakeholder engagement, communication strategies, and technological advancements. A highlight of the event was the EO4Port of the Future Workshop, which explored cutting-edge Earth Observation (EO) solutions for maritime applications, aligning with OCEANIDS’ goals to optimize operations in coastal regions.
The event also featured active participation from the project’s Advisory Board, including experts in oceanography, GIS, and environmental research. Their feedback provided valuable guidance for the next stages of the project, particularly in advancing user-driven tools and preparing for field validation activities.
By fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders and integrating expertise from research, industry, and policy sectors, the OCEANIDS 2nd Plenary Meeting underscored the project’s commitment to promoting resilience and inclusivity in the blue economy.
